This summer our 8-week Stem Research Scholars Program (SRSP) brought together a diverse cohort of students from across the nation! We’re thrilled to share some of the incredible work our students accomplished, the skills they developed, and the unique experiences they had.
Our students engaged in intensive study across various fields including AI, genomics, nuclear fusion, data security, and beyond. Some interesting topics included "The Effects of Reperfusion Injuries on Mitochondrial Function and Cellular Respiration" by Leon Lin, "Hydrological Dynamics of Greenland Lakes: Understanding the Process in Which Rapid Drainage Can Occur" by Vrishank Malik, and "How Does a Missile Work?" by Kendrick Park. We were amazed by all of our students diligence and interest engaging with current events, both within and outside the realm of science. You can find further details on our students' projects in the RCC publication.
We were excited to offer a unique curriculum this semester with a Guest Lecture from Dr. Lilian Lamech, a senior scientist at Life Edit Therapeutics in Durham, NC, networking sessions, research workshops, and more!
We are thankful to our students and mentors for their dedication this summer, and we can't wait to see what they'll accomplish next!
