STEM Research Scholars Program (SRSP)
SRSP is our flagship program, providing 1-on-1 mentorship for high school students and advanced middle school students (grades 6-12) on a personalized research project on any scientific topic of choice. After being paired one-on-one with a university student researcher, students spend 10 weeks meeting with mentors and engaging with a rich curriculum consisting of seminars, workshops, guest lecturers, networking sessions, individual meetings, symposia, and more! Students engage with research questions of their choice, and are paired specifically with mentors who can develop their specific passions and grow their domain knowledge. This virtual program is offered to students in the United States. International students are encouraged to join us via our SRSP Global program (same application).

SRSP teaches students how to read, write, analyze, synthesize, and present complex scientific topics; these skills form the bedrock of any successful career in the sciences and can be easily transferred to other academic and professional domains. To that end, we help students create concrete deliverables such as literature review papers that we publish on a semesterly basis and flash talks that are presented at our end-of-semester symposia.
Following SRSP, students will be equipped to venture further into the world of scientific research with confidence. Several SRSP alumni have been able to use our program as a springboard into research internships at academic labs. SRSP alumni are also invited to join our advanced programs listed below. In fact, we feel so strongly about the competencies that SRSP fosters in our students that we only admit SRSP alumni to our advanced and premium programs. In exceptional cases, we admit current SRSP students to these programs as well.

To our knowledge, SRSP is the only program that offers all of the above completely for free.

Advanced Programs
1
STEM Research Leadership Program
Work under the direct mentorship of the RCC executive board to open a local chapter of RCC or similar initiative! We will help you start a school club, research journal, podcast, seminar series or any other local initiative.

Gain significant leadership experience that will demonstrate your ability to collaborate and take initiative to future colleges, research labs, or employers. This is your chance to share your passion for scientific research with your local community under the direct mentorship of the RCC executive team!
Application only available to SRSP alumni upon request
2
Research Working Groups
Work under the mentorship of RCC mentors on an original research project in a given field of research. We currently only offer a Bioinformatics-focused Working Group.
Members of the Working Group collaborate with each other with the ultimate goal of publishing research findings in a collegiate/pre-collegiate level academic journal. Students are selected based on their motivation to work semi-independently and learn on-the-go, rather than their current skill level.
Prior experience is valued, but we're more interested to see where you can go with what we teach you!
Application only available to SRSP alumni upon request
3
Personalized Academic Advising
Meet with an RCC mentor for counseling. We will help you delve deeper into your research and non-research related aspirations, offering guidance that caters to your personal circumstances, resources, and timeline. We review resumes, conduct mock interviews, and provide guidance on college applications. Drawing from our distinguished academic and professional experiences, we can help you narrate your journey and articulate your passions in a cohesive, compelling, and accurate manner.
